Local image processing
FreePicTools is designed so that image editing and analysis happen in your browser. Uploaded images are processed locally on your device and are not sent to a FreePicTools application server for compression, cropping, conversion, metadata inspection, redaction or similar tool functions.
This statement applies to the image-processing features of the app. It does not mean that visiting the website creates no network traffic at all. The site itself is delivered by a hosting provider, and optional advertising integrations can create additional network requests if they are activated with consent.
Cookies, local storage and consent state
FreePicTools currently uses browser storage primarily through Local Storage. We use it for:
- saving your consent decision,
- saving a manually chosen theme preference, and
- saving a manually chosen language preference.
No analytics or marketing storage is used by FreePicTools itself. Optional advertising-related storage only becomes relevant if advertising is enabled on a deployment and you actively grant ad consent.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the visible privacy-settings button in the interface.
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc.. As with most web services, the hosting layer can process server log data such as IP address, request time, user agent, referrer and requested URL to provide the site, maintain security and troubleshoot abuse.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in secure and reliable website operation.
We do not currently publish a custom, application-level log retention promise beyond what is operationally required by the hosting provider.

Advertising and Google AdSense preparation
FreePicTools contains a consent-gated AdSense preparation layer. The Google AdSense script is not included directly in index.html. On deployments where advertising is explicitly enabled, the script is inserted dynamically only after you grant ad consent.
Publisher-ID: ca-pub-4653533937550770
Current deployment status: Advertising is technically disabled on this deployment, so no AdSense script is loaded here.
If you later withdraw ad consent after advertising was already loaded, the site stores the new choice and reloads the page so the advertising script is no longer loaded on the refreshed page.
If Google AdSense is enabled and you consent, Google can process personal data and use cookies or similar identifiers according to its own services and policies.

- How Google uses information from sites and apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Important: this built-in consent layer is a technical preparation, not a statement that a live Google-certified CMP has already been implemented for all jurisdictions. Serving AdSense in the EEA, UK or Switzerland still requires separate validation with a Google-certified CMP before live monetization.
Legal basis for optional advertising processing: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Contact by email
The public website currently offers contact via email only. There is no server-backed contact form on the site at the moment.
If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide in order to answer your request. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual communication where relevant, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general correspondence.
Your rights (Art. 15–21 GDPR)
Under the GDPR you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise your rights, contact tshfm78@gmail.com.
Supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The supervisory authority responsible for the controller is:

International data transfers
If advertising is enabled and you consent to it, Google-related processing can involve international data transfers, including transfers to countries outside the European Union. In those cases, Google is responsible for its own transfer mechanisms and safeguards under its applicable policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the product, hosting setup, consent flow or legal assessment changes. The date above will be updated accordingly.
